Positive influence?

To what extent did the movie "The shift" influence your thoughts about your educational action from now on?

  1. Hello everyone! Of course it did. Actually, we need to have on mind the great lessons we took and make sure that we are living these lessons, so we can start to educate! The movie took me great lessons, and some of them took me questions, so i could get more envolved, just enough to make me look for deeply about the point.
And, the most important thing is that i need to be educated WITH my students, because it's a share of moments and experiences, but, i need to RESPECT their spaces and their moments. And of course, enjoy every moment, because all of it ("can") bring us lessons.

  2. Unfortunately I couldn't watch the entire movie once I had an individual student. I considered it very moving and touching, though. I think I can be a little bit more open to my surroudings in order to feel what's happening and maybe, and just maybe, the shift I need (in some aspects of my practice) will take place.

  3. Hello everyone! About the movie, I think it has a lot of Zen Philosophy in the sense that appeals to our direct experience of reality. With this I mean that being a teacher is not just about passing theoretical knowledge, but helping our students to grow strong and beautiful like the lotus flower. With this thought I mean that growing isn't an easy process and thinking by our own also means not being afraid of getting deeper on our questions. In this case, our goal as teachers would be helping our students to explore on the superficial questions until they solve the riddle that underlies their own speech.

  4. Once it has changed something inside us it surely will change something in every aspect of our private and professional life. I just wish to finish watching the movie before getting to any final conclusions or/and thoughts.

  5. Definetely the movie presents a terrific zest for life, and by large and far it is how we should act as educators. Life itself bears unexpected shifts and we have to treat our mates as if we expect and wish to be treated. We, as educators, have to believe that students and peers success and embetterment should mirror our own progress and character. As such, I do believe that a more selfless attitude would be welcome in our world, not only to educate our own students, but to increment citizenship among the ones we are surrounded by.

P.S. Who is the Circle of Movement?

  7. I got completely touched by the movie! I always like to think what I am doing with my life and check if things are going on the right track. As a person I want to be less selfish everyday and try to serve instead of being served. I think I need to listen more and speak less. I want to be the change and also I want to interfere positively in people’s lives. I want to share my thoughts instead of say that I have the reason. I am trying hard to be a better human being and as a consequence a better teacher.

  8. The movie is very inspiring and I think it influenced my thoughts about my educational action. The shift is a way of finding out what our mission is and an opportunity to change and re-create our lives. Now I think that in order to be a better educator I should go beyond my ego and be open to new experiences, always willing to learn with my students.
Maybe we should also stoping worrying so much about every little thing we do and try to be more spontaneous.

  9. Being open to learn with my students and willing to change, listening more than speaking, creating a positive atmosphere in class leading students to more positive thoughts, treating students the way we wish to be treated...there are so many lessons we can get from the movie, but, firstly and mostly, we must see ourselves as an image of our Creator and be ready to serve selflessly.

  10. I believe that the Shift can happen through the knowledge of Jehovah God and the Bible. Once you understand that the objective of life is serve to God and be faifhful and loyal to Him,according to what the Bible says, you'll be open to change everything in your life that is not according to what God wants from you, and you'll go beyond what your ego wants and start living a complete, happy life.
And of course, this will have a consequence in several aspects of our lives, including our pedagogical practice, cause if you understand that you need to follow God's instructions, insead of your ego's, you'll put other people's needs first, you'll be more accessible to others, you'll be able to create a comfortable environment in class, where everybody gets to show their opinions and grow as learners. And you'll be more human, more sensitive, more responsable as a teacher.
